Description
White‑skin Moon Realm (scientific name: *Monsonia peniculina*) is a perennial dwarf shrub in the Asteraceae family. It is native to southern Africa, particularly Namibia and South Africa. The fleshy stems are covered with a waxy protective layer, and the leaves are a tender greenish‑yellow lanceolate shape, densely covered with fine hairs, which provides drought tolerance and protection against windblown sand. The base of the fleshy stem swells into a blocky shape, with a grey‑white waxy coating that reduces water loss and protects against gravel abrasion. Branch tips bear clusters of green lanceolate leaves; the leaf surfaces are densely velvety, with leaves reaching 3–4 cm in length. The overall height of the plant typically does not exceed 30 cm.
